WHAT IS NEEDED FOR HOME AUDITIONS
1. Clean, uncluttered space: Pick a bright, quiet room with a neutral backdrop. Avoid photos, mirrors, distracting wallpaper, or anything else that takes people's attention away from you.
2. It is important to ensure even lighting, no shadows on your face, and that your eye color can be seen.
3. Get familiar with your camera, iPhone, or tablet and practice auditioning with it. Also ensure that the sound is clear.
4. You should dress appropriately for the character you are portraying.
5. Learn your lines: If possible, memorize them. Initial auditions are rarely off book. Before recording your performance, practice it many times.
6. Make sure you are framed properly and that both you and your reader can easily hear one another. A typical framing should extend from mid-chest to the top of your head.
7. It is important that you submit your audition as soon as possible. If you are submitting an audition or slate, make sure to follow the instructions provided by the casting director or agent. Ensure that any additional materials requested are included. As an example,
